Prof. Deen Mohd. Noorul Haq did his MBBS from Mymansing Medical College in 1979 and obtaind, FCPS (In Ophthalmology, Bangladesh) in 1991. He did his 1 year fellowship in Anterior segment from Royal Alexendra Hospital, Paisly UK abd 6 months fellowship in Neurohthalmology from Southern General Hospital, Glaxo, UK. He is one of the leading Phaco surgeons in Bangladesh.
As the Director General of Health Services he worked on restructuring the health services from the Community clinic to specialized tertiary hospital to ensure the basic health right of the citizens of Bangladesh to a global standard.
As the line Director of National Eye Care, Bangladesh he was the person responsible for planning, implemantation and monitoring of National Blindness Prevention Program.
He play a kay role in Human Resource Development in eye care. In his glorious career as an opthalmic teacher he imparted teaching and training of cataract surgery to the young opthalmologists all over the country.
Prof Huq is also active in the regional and international arena of Opthalmology, especially in Community Ophthalmology. He has prepared a “Cararact Surgical Manual” which includes pre-operative and post-operative care and sterilization process jointly with Dr. Ravindran, Chairman, Madurai Eye Care System India. He implemented this Cataract Surgical Manual in both private and public eye hospitals resulting in qualitive improvement in cataract surgical outcome in Bangladesh.
Prof Huq believes in international and regional networking to develop ophthalmology in Bangladesh. He is a visionary in setting up an international standaed Eye Hospital named “DEEN MOHD EYE HOSPITAL & RESEARCH CENTER” along with some brilliant and promissing Ophthakmologists of Bangladesh to provide the world standard eye care service.
